Got a pair of superwarm classic UGG Boots, love and wear almost every day in winter? Well, then your UGGs probably look like mine. I made the big mistake to wear them when the weather was wet and salt was trying to fight the snow in Vienna, so I had to google the best way to clean my classic UGG Boots. Maybe I made a mistake, or I don’t know, however something went terribly wrong and now I have to deal with the result.
Let me just tell you, the following manual should be the right way, but maybe I used the sponge way to euphorically. If any of you has an idea to „rescue“ my UGGS please let me know!!!
PS: Cleaning my KNITTED UGG Boots was much easier, I put them into my washing machine, using detergent for woollens and a special wash cycle for woollens (30 degrees) and they turned out to look, like I bought them one month ago. LIKE!
Habt ihr ein Paar der superwarmen klassischen UGG Boots, liebt ihr und tragt ihr sie fast jeden Tag im Winter? Nun, dann sehen eure UGGs vermutlich aus wie meine. Ich habe den großen Fehler gemacht sie zu tragen als das Wetter feucht war und Salz versucht hat den Schnee auf Wien’s Straßen zu bekämpfen, also musste ich googln ich wie meine klassischen UGG Boots am Besten wieder sauber bekomme. Vielleicht habe ich etwas falsch gemacht, oder ich weiß auch nicht, jedenfalls ist irgendwas richtig falsch gelaufen und jetzt muss ich mit dem Resultat leben.
Lasst mich nur eines sagen: die folgende Anleitung sollte die richtige sein, aber vielleicht habe ich den Schwamm etwas zu euphorisch eingesetzt. Wenn jemand von euch eine Idee hat wie ich meine UGGs noch „retten“ könnte, lasst es mich bitte wissen!!!
PS: Meine gestrickten UGG Boots zu reinigen war wesentlich einfacher, ich habe sie einfach in die Waschmaschine gesteckt, ein Wollwaschmittel und ein spezielles Wollwaschprogramm (30 Grad) verwendet und sie haben danach ausgesehen als hätte ich sie erst vor einem Monat gekauft. LIKE!
BEFORE / DAVOR:
What you need / Was ihr benötigt:
- detergent for woolens / Wollwaschmittel
- small bowl / kleine Schüssel
- water / Wasser
- soft sponge / weicher Schwamm
How to do it / So wird’s gemacht:
1) Fill warm water and some of the detergent for woolens in the small bowl (I filled the bowl almost to the edge with water and took a cap of the detergent for woolens).
1) Füllt warmes Wasser und etwas des Wollwaschmittels in the kleine Schüssel (Ich habe die Schüssel fast bis zum Rand mit Wasser gefüllt und dann eine Kappe des Wollwaschmittels beigefügt).
2) Dip your sponge in the mixture and gently scrub your boots with the sponge (ATTENTION: be careful and avoid ripping the fine leather – always use the soft side!).
2) Taucht euren Schwamm in die Mixtur und reibt eure Schuhe vorsichtig damit ab (ACHTUNG: seid vorsichtig wenn ihr das macht und vermeidet es das feine Leder einzureißen – verwendet immer die weiche Seite des Schwammes!)
3) After you did this to both of your boots alover, take some newspaper or a small towel, put it in the front area of your boots, so they will stay in shape.
3) Wenn ihr das überall bei euren beiden Schuhen getan habt, nehmt eine Zeitung oder ein kleines Handtuch zur Hand und stopft den vorderen Teil eurer Schuhe aus, damit sie in Form bleiben.
4) It would be perfect if you own a pair of bootstrap stretchers to put them in your boots aswell, if not, simple take more newspaper or even another towel. (ATTENTION: keep your boots away from radiators!)
4) Perfekt wäre es wenn ihr ein Paar Stiefelstrecker besitzen würdet, um auch dem Schaft in Form zu halten, wenn ihr aber keine besitzt ist das auch nicht schlimm, denn dann könnt ihr einfach ein weiteres Handtuch oder Zeitungspapier stattdessen nehmen. (ACHTUNG: haltet eure Schuhe fern von künstlichen Wärmequellen wie z.B. der Heizung!)

They look a little better in the front area, but on other places this ugly discolorations appaered :(
